New User: Signing Up as an Organizer
If you are new to Recess, follow this guide to create your organizer account and set up your first event listing with location and event details.
Step 1 – Create Your Account
- Go to www.recess.is – Navigate to the Recess website.
- Sign up as an Organizer – Select the option to create a new organizer account and complete the registration form with your name, email address, and password.
- Complete your profile – Once registered, fill out your organizer profile before creating your first experience. This helps brands understand who they are partnering with.
Step 2 – Create Your First Experience
Once your account and profile are set up, you can begin listing your event:
- Log in – Sign in to your newly created organizer account.
- Start a new experience – From your dashboard, select the option to create a new experience.
Step 3 – Add Experience Details (Page 1)
- Title: The name of your event (e.g., Friday Night Market, Yoga in the Park).
- Experience Types: How you categorize the experience for potential sponsors (e.g., Wellness Event, Food Festival).
- Audience Types (optional): Who will be attending (e.g., Families, Age 18-24).
- Activity Types (optional): What attendees will do (e.g., Yoga, Live Performances, Tastings).
Step 4 – Add Location & Event Dates (Page 2: Availability)
This is where you configure where and when your event takes place.
Adding an Event Date
- Click Add New Date
- Select the Timeframe
- Ongoing: No specific end date (e.g., a fitness studio open year-round)
- Event Dates: Set start and end dates for scheduled events
- Set Recurrence – Indicate if the event repeats — annually, monthly, or just once.
Adding a Venue / Location
- Click Add New Venue
- Fill in the venue details
- Venue Location: Venue-specific, Regional, or National
- Venue Name: Enter a recognizable name sponsors will understand
- Venue Type: Select the type of establishment
- Venue Setting: Indoors, outdoors, or both
- Available Storage: Select all available storage facilities
- Max Number of Pallets: Maximum pallets you can receive and store at once
- Posting Platforms: Platforms available for sponsors to post messaging
Step 5 – Define Sponsor Assets (Page 3)
Describe the ways sponsors can engage with your audience. Click Add New Asset and configure Item Distribution and/or On-Site Activation options as applicable. (See How to Add a New Event to Your Account, Step 4, for full asset details.)
Step 6 – Promote Your Listing (Page 4: Partnership)
- Pitch: Write a short description that sells the sponsorship opportunity
- Photos: Add images that showcase your event
- Brand Partners: Highlight any previous brand partnerships
- Exclusive / Prohibited Categories: Note any category restrictions for sponsors
Step 7 – Preview & Publish
- Review the Preview page – Confirm all required sections are complete.
- Click Publish to make your listing live and visible to interested brands, or click Finish to save as a draft.
