How to List a Venue / Location Opportunity on Recess

Use the video and/or the cheatsheet below to help you list your Venue / Property Opportunity on the Recess platform correctly.

What is the name of the event?

This is the name of the property or organization where the brand will be on-site or sampled.

Select all event types that best describe your event.

Select the event types that fit most closely with your opportunity. You can select multiple event types.

Please provide a detailed description of your event. Include things like planned activities, special guests, demographic info, etc.

Remember that this section is where you are ‘selling yourself’ to brand partners. Many users copy/paste a customer-facing description from their website and see worse results than those who direct this description more toward a sponsor/brand partner.

What day and time does the event start?

List your event with a monthly or weekly frequency. You only need to list a single month or a single week. Our team will copy your event for the rest of the months/weeks so that you only have to fill out this form once. Please contact dustin@recess.is to have your additional events created.

What time zone is your event located in?

List your time zone

How often does this event occur?

Is your event date(s) 100% confirmed?

What is the most realistic number of attendees you think your event will have?

This number is the total estimated attendance/reach for the time period that you listed - not to be confused with the number of samples that you could hand out. (We’ll get to that later.)

Is the setting primarily indoors, outdoors, both, or virtual?

Where would on-site brands set up, or where would sampling take place?

What is the name of the venue where the event takes place?

List the name of your property/organization.

What is the address of the venue where the event takes place?

List the street address of your property/organization.

Would you be able to pass out promotional items from brands to your attendees/guests?

If you are willing to distribute product and/or promotional items from brands - select yes. (You will approve each product/promotional item before it is sent to your property)

Please confirm if you agree to our standard promotional item pricing?

If you agree to the standard pricing for product sampling - select yes. If you do not agree to the standard pricing - please contact dustin@recess.is

How many pallets are you able to receive and store at a time?

For large shipments and longer-term partnerships, approximately how many pallets of product are you able to store at once? This helps us know if we can send all product in a single shipment or need to break into smaller more frequent shipments.

Please describe where the promotional items could be distributed to attendees at the event?

Where / how will you be distributing any product that you receive? (Entry, exit, etc.

If requested, is your staff able to serve food/beverage items cold?

In order to serve a beverage cold you would need to have sufficient refrigerators or have coolers with ice to chill before serving cold.

If requested, is your staff able to assemble items that will be handed out?

An example of assembling would be your staff taking (4) food or beverage items and (1) 4x6 card and placing them into a bag. The assembly references that your team would assemble these bags. Each assembled bag is paid out $.25 in addition to the payout for the products.

Would you agree to post a sponsor’s branded message on your social media accounts in exchange for a fee?

If you are willing to post about a brand on your social media, select yes and list the cost.

Can sponsors play video content for the entire audience to see?

If you have a video screen that every person at your event can see - would you allow for a branded message to be displayed?

Do you offer sponsors space at the event where they can set up a physical booth/activation?

If you would be interested in a brand coming onsite themselves for an in-person activation - select yes and choose the size of space you can provide and the daily cost for a brand to be on-site if there is one. (The suggested price will not be relevant to you here because we are listing your event for an entire month and the algorithm uses that timeframe to figure a suggested price)

Please describe where the on-site spaces for sponsors will be located at your event?

If a brand were to come on-site for an in-person activation, where would you have them set up?

Do you offer space where brands can set up their food truck or trailer?

Same as above.

Select yourself and anybody else you would like for us to contact if you receive an offer or we have questions about your listing.

Are brands allowed to collect information from attendees that choose to opt-into their marketing communications (i.e. subscribing to a newsletter)?

If an onsite brand can exchange a product or promotion in exchange for a consumer providing their email address - select yes. (participation is not required - only optional)

Can sponsors sell items to attendees at your event?

If an onsite brand can exchange their product or promotion in exchange for payment from a consumer - select yes.

Can sponsors distribute food to attendees at your event?
If you or brands who are onsite are allowed to sample their food product - select yes.
